The stand-alone Bridgeclear system is a robust low bridge warning unit that requires very little driver input. Using the exclusive Bridgeclear database of nearly 6,000 GB and Ireland low bridges combined with a GPS signal, the stand-alone system calculates where the nearest low bridge is in relation to the vehicle. Audio-visual warnings are given if the driver approaches a bridge which is too low. These progressively increase as the vehicle gets closer to the bridge.

The system only chooses those bridges that are at or lower than the height of the vehicle, so the driver is not distracted by unnecessary warnings. The warning distances are set to suit your requirements, so as to allow the driver to take action early enough to avoid collisions with bridges.

The vehicle height is either pre-set e.g. on a bus, or is keyed in by the driver before they set off. The Bridgeclear unit then provides real time information on the location of, and distance to the nearest low bridge. This information is specific to the height of the vehicle being driven.
